Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026 · Version 2026-10-22
Takeoff Training LLC, a Colorado company (“Takeoff Training”, “we”), runs this training website and the Takeoff Coach program. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Takeoff Training is in testing: features, and this policy, may change before full launch. We’ll post any change here.
How accounts work
Companies sign up for Takeoff Training and add their employees. Each employee has their own sign-in, linked to their company’s account. The company (through its company admins) decides who is enrolled and can see its people’s training results. If your company enrolled you, it may also have its own policies about your training records.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, your company, and your role (learner or company admin). Your password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored only in encrypted (hashed) form. We never see it.
- Training records: the lessons, quizzes and tests you take, when you take them, how long they take, your answers and scores, each step’s result (for example, how many wrong clicks or hints), and the measurements you submit for grading (the quantities, their description, and the name of your training project).
- What Takeoff Coach does on your computer: while a lesson or test runs, the coach reads the measurements in your eTakeoff Dimension training project, takes screenshots of the eTakeoff window (to find its buttons) and of its Quantity List (to read the numbers on it), and notices mouse clicks inside the eTakeoff window and the S, G and Enter keys, so it can check each step. Screenshots are read on your computer and are never uploaded. Nothing else you type is read or recorded. Only the training records above are sent to us. The coach also keeps a log and copies of your results in your Documents\TakeoffCoach folder, on your computer.
- Technical information: our hosting providers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) to run and secure their services. When the coach checks for updates it contacts GitHub, which sees your computer’s IP address. Your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t use analytics that follow you across sites.
How we use it
- To run the training: grade your work, show your progress, and keep your results.
- To let your company admins see their people’s training time, scores and progress.
- To support you, fix problems, keep the service secure, and improve the lessons and tests.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
We don’t sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it for targeted ads.
Who can see it
- You can see your own training records on My training.
- Your company’s admins can see the training records of people in their company.
- Takeoff Training staff, to run and support the service.
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us, under their own security and privacy terms: Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (website hosting) and GitHub (Takeoff Coach downloads and our private backups). When we start charging, a card payment processor will handle payments. We never see or store full card numbers.
- If the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people or the service.
- If the business is sold or merged, to the new owner, under this policy.
How long we keep it
- Training records and account details are kept while your company’s account is active, so your training history stays available to you and your company.
- When a company’s account closes, we delete its people’s accounts and training records within 90 days.
- When you delete your account (or your company admin removes it), your account and training records are deleted right away.
- Backups of the database are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct: your details and results are on My training. Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete: use Delete my account on My training, or ask your company admin or us.
- Get a copy: ask us for a copy of your training records.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as the Colorado Privacy Act, where it applies) may give you more rights. To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We’ll answer within 45 days.
Age
Takeoff Training is workplace training. Learners must be at least 16 and enrolled by their employer. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we’ll delete it. For learners under 18 we collect only what the training needs. We never sell it, use it for ads, or profile them.
Security
Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database rules limit each person to their own records, and company admins to their own company. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we’ll tell you and the authorities as the law requires (in Colorado, within 30 days).
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. If the change is significant, we’ll ask you to review it when you next sign in.
